Mothersaving expedition – reaching out lifesaving cancer therapy fund

Dear Friends, we ask for your support for the life-saving cancer therapy of a young mother, my wife!

Csilla, my wife, underwent unexpected, life-saving brain surgery in Budapest on 13 January 2019, during which a tumour of 7 cm in diameter was found in her brain. Histological examinations yielded a malignant tumour called a glioblastoma multiforme. Currently, this type of cancer can only be cured by a series of experimental treatments only in some clinic all over the world. The treatment in 2021 and 2022 will cost almost EUR 100,000, which our family unfortunately cannot finance. Please, help us to reach our goal and to save my wife to our five year old littl girl. But how did we get to this point?

I fell in love with Csilla in 2009. We were no longer teenagers, and we both felt this love would last for a lifetime. Today, unfortunately, we can only hope we will have a long life together.

We got married in 2011 and only the blessing of a child was missing to fulfil our happiness. After a while we were blessed with immense joy. Our daughter Panna was born in May 2018.

However, the sweet happiness lasted only eight months, when my wife had her brain surgery. Up until then, both expecting for the baby and caring for her were like living in a fairy tale, but that ended suddenly.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to remove the entire tumour during surgery. We fully cooperated with the doctors in the treatment that was based on current medical options, but the 60-dose radiotherapy and the chemotherapy that lasted more than a year were only able to stabilize my wife's condition temporarily.

Csilla is young and fit, so her body is generally expected to respond well to the treatments and the current grace period may last for up to a year. Usually, this is followed by rapid deterioration because the monster starts again. It generaly ends with tragedy... but not in our case.

We found a survivor who had been cured of the same disease more than 10 years earlier! This gentleman was diagnosed with the same disease 12 years ago, was operated on and given a similar prognosis. He was also told to prepare his family to expect that he would survive for a year and a half, but he did not give up - and we haven’t either. He found a private clinic in Germany where he was cured through long process of immunotherapy consisting of complex viral, heat, and immunology treatments based on chemotherapy. This is why we went to Cologne for an assessment, where we were informed that there was a good chance of saving Csilla’s life.

We started our journey in Cologne a year ago and Csilla has received a total of nine treatments so far, but unfortunately our collected financial resources have been fully exhausted as we have accomplished the first year in the treatment.

Nevertheless, we are very happy because Csilla’s condition has been successfully stabilized and her tumour has not grown for several months. However, this is not enough; the tumour needs to leave her body completely. And since her body has responded very well to the treatments so far, we would like to continue the journey we have begun.

In order for Panna to have a chance to grow up with her mother, we need to continue the treatments we started in Cologne. The cost for this is about 100,000 Euros over the next two years. We applied for financial assistance from the State, but unfortunately our application was rejected.

Our daughter Panna is only five years old at this time, but I have promised her that she will not grow up without a mother because I will not lose her mother, my wife! Therefore, although it has been very difficult for me emotionally, I have written this letter and created this support page for her, for them, for us.

Because we believe there are organizations, foundations or persons who, for purely humane reasons, would support an unknown family, would save a life, a young mother, and give back our hope, and give Panna a chance to grow up with her mother. We ask for your help!
