Mothers Rent & Tax Emergency Fund

As the title says, I started this to try to help out my Mother, as a last resort.

She is 60 years old and has Crohn's Disease. This means she is very unwell most of the time(many trips to the toilet with painful diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and general malaise) and so is on Incapacity Benefit (UK long term sick benefit). She also receives Housing benefit (to pay her rent for her) and Council Tax benefit (CT is a local tax everyone must pay unless they are sick/unemployed).

She has just been informed that ALL her benefits are to be stopped for 6 months as a penalty. Why? Because she stayed at my house for longer than 13 weeks and, unbeknown to her, you must not be away from your home for longer than this if you receive benefits. The reason she stayed with us is because she became TOO ILL to travel the 450 miles home!! She has finally returned home last week and finds that she now has NO WAY of paying her rent or the council tax. She also lives on a small Scottish island, so is quite isolated.

Additionally, she is now struggling to pay her electricity bill as the rate is very high where she lives and she informed me yesterday that she is keeping the heating off, despite it being cold, and is not even cooking food to keep the bill down!

The stop in benefits has left her to deal with the following:

• No hot water
• No cooked food
• No heating!
• No money for Council Tax
• No money for Rent

Each day that passes, she is living in the above conditions.
My partner and I have already given her what we can, a small amount as we are in a little debt ourselves and only manage to keep afloat.
I cannot think of any other way to raise some money for her.

    Her house is very cold and I am very worried for her.
