Morverns Raising Funds for Galway University Hospital Children

The Morvern family lives in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.

In July 2020, the youngest member of the family (Kin, age 8) had a very serious accident at home. Airlifted to hospital by the Emergency Rescue Service, he was treated in Galway University Hospital as an inpatient for 14 nights and then as an outpatient. He was in theatre five times and was helped in his recovery by paramedics, resus, surgeons, children's nurses, paediatric team, physiotherapy, occupational and play therapy.

The Morvern family cannot thank the Hospital enough, as although Kin has a long road of healing ahead and also has to contend with a pre-existing, chronic pain condition, the Hospital doctors and nurses and all staff provided incredible healthcare in our time of need.

Kin says, "I would like to say thank you to everyone in the hospital for looking after me and helping me get better after my accident."

When these funds are raised, we will present a cheque to Galway University Hospital for use in the care of children.
