Morocco in America is my new home based business that I operate from the basement of my new home. I refurbish and upcycle (take something from its original state and make it better) with a cultural inspiration. I love colors and I enjoy all the manual labor that goes into creating my pieces. My work is a combination of furniture repair and art but it's more art than anything. Each piece is one of a kind so my customers are getting works of art that won'to be found anywhere else. Currently, I am selling my pieces on Etsy.com. The link to my shop is www.etsy.com/shop/MoroccoinAmerica.
The purpose of Morocco in America is not to get rich. This business is a means of generating income to fund my nonprofit that will be operational as soon as I get the funds I need to get it going. My nonprofit will provide male juvenile delinquents and ex convicts the means of obtaining economic stabilization. My aim is to break the cycle of young men getting involved in gangs and going to jail, forfeiting a life of prosperity and peace. I have witnessed many men make mistakes, spend years in jail, and end up back in jail because they couldn't find jobs due to their past and needed money to survive. Why men, why not women? My heart has always been towards helping men. I understand them and God has put a desire in my heart to help them. If we can change the men, we can change society!
With these startup funds, I will be able to get my own custom website built and advertise to my ideal customer base.
How You're Helping:
By donating startup funds for my business, you are enabling me to open the doors of opportunity to those that society deems unworthy of a second chance. As a Christian woman with a faith-based business and nonprofit organization, like Jesus, I want to shed mercy upon these men and provide them the chance to give themselves and their families a better means of living. Crime and imprisonment are chafing of bondage that can be broken, and I aim to do just that with God's help! Thank you!
