I'm Morgan, I'm a happy 17 year old with a bright future ahead of me. Recently I've overcome many obstacles in life that have made me want to change my life for the better. I dropped out of high school to get more hours and help my mom pay bills. Then I lost my job due to recurring health issues that were making it hard to really do anything. My mom, sister, and I moved to Florida with relatives hoping for a new start. However, our relatives there were not treating me well and I couldn't take it anymore, so I moved back to Louisiana with my boyfriend and there was a domestic dispute so I had to move in with my aunts.
They encouraged me to look into the Youth Challenge Program with the National Guard. I applied for the program and I got accepted for the Class of 2017 at Camp Minden. There I will have the opportunity to get my GED or HiSet, take the ASVAB for the Air Force, get my Driver's License, learn important life skills, and change my life all around. The program itself is free, but there are a lot of fees that my aunt's just can not really afford. What the money will be going to is as followed:
- $425 for my Driver's Ed
- $75 for supplies the program requires I bring.
