Save Birbilis!! Against all odds!!

Birbilis is one of the stray dogs that I have been taking care for 8yrs now. This funding campaign is for his medical costs.

He was born in February 2011, inside the property of a subsidiary of the ministry of agriculture, located in Agia Paraskevi Athens. His sister and mother were adopted. Since then he has been together with three other dogs under the care of volunteers residing in the area.

In July 2019, Birbilis was diagnosed with prostate cancer, unfortunately, not operable. Attached is the biopsy result.

As he is very lively, showing no symptoms, all volunteers decided to try to extend his life for as long as it is possible to live without any problems. We started chemotherapy in July. He has already completed the three first rounds and on 30/9 the 4^th one. His tumor has decreased by 2cm!!!

He is currently hosted by a nice lady, near the area where he grew up where he goes for his walks twice per day to meet with the rest of the gang!!

Birbilis is the mascot of the area! Always running around and playing! We have managed to cover the costs of the medical exams and the four chemotherapies up to now, a cost around 1,850 euros, but it gets very difficult to raise the money for each treatment as time passes, among just us, the few volunteers. The cost for each chemotherapy is 150-220euros (each therapy cost varies there is additional cost for X-RAY and U/S plus blood tests 7 days after every treatment). Amount requested from this campaign will cover almost 9 chemotherapy treatments for the next three months. All invoices for funds used will be uploaded on regular updates.

Please, we really need the funds to prolong his life !
