Monument Park High Choir Tour

The Monument Park High School Choir was established in 2015. They took part in the Tygerberg International Eisteddfod, Helderberg Eisteddfod and was invited to share the stage with the Ebony Chorale from America.

In 2016 the choir took Gold at the Tygerberg International Eisteddfod, and won their category at the Helderberg Eisteddfod with 90%. They also took part in the Artscape Schools Art Festival and won a prize for High School Choir. They also formed part of the ATKV Handevat Projek which Monument Park High School and AME Primary Kraaifontein won.

The choir received an invitation to sing in Derbyshire, England in 2017. Together with this, we hope to take part in the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, Wales. They have also been invited to sing at the Directors Choice concert!

We are working with a tour company to plan our tour, and it will be around about R25 000 per learner to go on this tour.
As most of our learners are from Bloekombos, Kraaifontein and Wallacedene and are also on the feeding scheme we have at our school, they do not have the funds to be part of this amazing project. This will be a dream come true for every chorister, but also for our school. Not only will the learners see a different country, they will also have the opportunity to meet and work with singers that share the same goald as them, from different countries. They will learn about new cultures.

We aren't only planning on taking part in this wonderful Eisteddfod, we also plan to visit Universities, Schools and Theatres.

The learners do not only need the money to go, but also matching T-shirts, tracksuits, rehearsal shirts and back packs.
