Money for new RAM memory for study laptop

My name is Anganathi from South Africa. The thing is I'm currently using a 2nd hand laptop which has 2gb ram for studying. The problem is that it lags and is slow. It's hard to use it for my online classes and researching. A better laptop would be the way to go but increasing ram is cheaper and would make things better, as I don't have any money.
