Monetary donations for medical volunteering project in Cusco, Peru

During my 10 day trip to Peru, I will be spending a week assisting with local medical providers in the ancient Inca capital of Cusco. Despite much improved health care access in the last 30 years, there are still many individuals in rural ares that do not receive adequate health care. "In general, Peru’s poorest citizens are subject to unhealthy environmental conditions, decreased access to health services, and typically have lower levels of education. Because of environmental issues such as poor sanitation and vector infestation, higher occurrences of communicable diseases are usually seen among such citizens" (Healthcare_in_Peru). In addition to health care personnel, the rural clinics need a lot of supplies. While I intend to bring some items with, it is not feasible for me to bring as much as I'd like (medications, medical supplies such as bandages, gloves, masks among other items.) It was suggested by a couple people that I perhaps have a way for people to donate money and items can be purchased in the city - as stated by the volunteering organization I am using IVHQ

"It is often helpful to wait until you're in-country, in order to identify the needs. If you purchase any items to donate when you're there, this not only ensures the money you plan to donate goes to good use, but it also stimulates the local economy."

I have no expectations from the fundraiser - if I get $5 or $250, I will ensure that it will be put to purchasing the most needed items for the clinic. NOTE - this money would be sent to myself so I can purchase items in Cusco, it is not a direct donation to the volunteer organization or any medical clinic. I would plan on taking pictures of what I purchase and post on a blog or social media.
