Monaghan Special Olympics

Monaghan Special Olympics club provides year-round sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults with an intellectual disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. The National Special Olympic Games will be held in Dublin from the 14^th to the 17^thJune 2018. 16 of our athletes have been selected to compete on Team Ulster.

Training for and participating in such events is expensive and our community relies on the generosity of their family, friends and supporters to help meet these costs. I am running the Edinburgh Marathon on the 27th of May to help raise some much needed funds for our teams participation in the 2018 National Special Olympic Games.

Every single Euro donated will be given directly to Monaghan Special Olympics. If you would like to donate you can do so either through this web site or in the traditional manner of cash in hand which my family members in Cobh and Monahan will gratefully accept and pass on. Or you can give it directly to myself in Dublin. Even if you can't spare anything at the moment, please, where possible, show your support for these fine athletes and come along to a special sports event in your area!
