Campaign Story
Dear friends and family,
This fundraiser is to help cover the cost of a surgery that my Mum is currently in need of. Late last year, Mum was diagnosed with a colon carcinoma at stage 3. At the time, she required immediate medical attention that involved chemotherapy in Dar es Salaam. Mum went to Dar where she started her chemo as recommended by the doctors at the time.
After having a series of medical check-ups with a specialist earlier this month, it was discovered that my mother stands a really high chance of recovery. All she needs is an Immediate surgery called a colon resection to remove the tumour and prevent it from spreading further.
This is where I ask for your assistance as a friend. We currently cannot afford the surgery and with our family relying on the tourism business, we are stuck financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The surgery and hospital stay will amount to $1,500. As a son currently residing and studying far from home, this is the least I can do to help cut the medical costs for Mum. Therefore, we are asking for help in raising at least $1,000 to help our family offset the financial burden so that Mum can get the surgery she needs and hopefully get well soon.
We understand that this is a hard time to ask for help as many are out of work and are struggling to cope due to the pandemic. Any contribution would be a great help and our family will be eternally grateful for any amount you are able to contribute.
On behalf of our entire family, I appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers, and support shown over the past few months and undoubtedly in the months to come.
Thank you!!!
