Mommy V’s Road to Recovery

Last November 8, a very unfortunate incident happened. We rushed our 76 year old mother to the Philippine Heart Center. She suffered a stroke and has been diagnosed with a lot of complications that lead her doctors to decide she has to stay in the ICU.

To date, she has been in the hospital for 14 days.

She needs to undergo hemodialysis 3x a week because of acute renal failure, her platelets are dangerously low and she also has a severe infection due to her inability to pee. She also hasn't talked since the day we brought her to the hospital - a condition that affect stroke patients.

Since then, Mommy V has undergone a lot of procedures, there are several doctors looking after her welfare - a cardiologist, a neurosurgeon, a hematologist, a gastroenterologist and a nephrologist to monitor her. It has been heartbreaking for our family not to be able to take care of her. More so, we know that the cost of her hospitalization would definitely balloon up in the coming days as we are still uncertain of her condition.

We wish to give our best shot for her and let the medical experts do everything to make her better, if not back at her health but at least, one that would entail us to go home and be able to spend time with her.
