Help mommy Lyra fight AML (Leukemia)

Hi everyone,

I created this online fundraising campaign for the benefit of my mom. Early half of this year, she started getting very sick. It’s been weeks of going in and out of the hospital for different tests and follow up check ups. Initially, the prognosis is Aplastic Anemia. And then after doing a Bone Marrow biopsy last July, her Hematologist suspects she has AML. But another test has to be done to really confirm it so that the proper medication and treatment can be recommended. Early September, the doctor finally confirmed and diagnosed her with AML.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a cancer that starts inside the bone marrow. This is the soft tissue in the center of the bones that helps form all blood cells. The cancer grows from cells that would normally turn into white blood cells. Acute means the disease grows quickly and usually has an aggressive course. When a person has AML, their myeloid cells mutate and form leukemic blasts. That's because their body is too busy making the leukemic blast cells. The result can be deadly. However, for many people, AML is a treatable disease.

There’s still hope, if we do the chemotherapy.

The doctor told us that the cost of her chemo therapy will be quite costly and we should have the funds readily available once we start the treatment so that the follow up sessions will continue and not get interrupted.

That is why I am humbly appealing to anyone with a generous heart who wants to willingly help my mom so we can start her treatment as soon as possible. Any amount of donations are welcome. Blood donors are very much welcome too as she will be needing a lot of blood transfusions during her chemo.
