Molly’s studies

Molly Dzangare is a young, award-wihnning and aspiring Zimbabwean opera singer who has a dream: Studying at the University of Cape Town Opera School, which would advance her career as a singer immensely. Cape Town University Opera School is one of the best internationally, and Molly would qualify for a place.

Molly has successfully participated in a number of international and local competitions and productions (Belvedere singing competition, The Voices of SA Opera Competition, to name a few, also collaborations at HIFA) and aspires to take Zimbabwe to an international opera level such as Metropolitan Opera or Teatro La Scala. But Molly also wants to give back to Zimbabwe: she would like to open an Opera Trust, with an Opera House in Harare, an Opera School and mentorship programs for young talents.

Every dream begins with a first step. For Molly, this is studying and refining her remarkable talent. But in order to fulfil this dream, Molly needs to raise USD 5000 to go to the UCT Opera School. With the current economic and currency crisis in Zimbabwe, this is a huge, if not impossible task, and Molly cannot stem it alone.
