Molly’s Chorus Tour 2016

My daughter Molly has been a member of the Tucson Girls Chorus (a tuition based music school) since 2009, when she was 7 years old! Since her very first experience of TGC she has always looked up to "the big girls" in Advanced Choir - now she is one of the Advanced Choir members!! Each year this choir travels for 10-20 days to different regions within the US and Internationally every three years! Molly will be with the Advanced Choir for four years for a total of $7,500-$12,500 in tour costs over the course of her experience. There is tremendous learning that comes with travel - and it's MANDATORY!! In the past, they have traveled to New York and DC, Alaska and Northwest, China, Argentina and Upper Mid-West!

We manage to meet the tuition cost, program fundraising obligations and performance costume costs as well as the time commitment of rehearsals and volunteering (20+ hours a month) although the tour costs are a bit out of reach. I think that participation in the program that Tucson Girls Chorus has to offer will give her so much more than a place and time to learn about music and sing. "The mission of the Tucson Girls Chorus is to prepare a diverse group of young women to be confident leaders through participation in a well-constructed educational program that emphasizes music, performance, leadership training and community service." The TGC program will also prepare her to qualify for scholarships at the college level and the camaraderie is priceless.

Any donation would help! The funds would be applied to Molly"s "tour account" at Tucson Girls Chorus so if we can raise enough for this year - it would be an amazing relief!
