In 2001 Michael was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, High blood pressure and liver disease. As time progressed his health got worse and he was forced to abandon his chosen career in the auto industry. In 2009 he was diagnosed with severe pulmonary problems and since then mobility has been a severe challenge and in spring of 2013, Michael became officially disabled and was unable to complete a work day in a part time position. This has been devastating to Michael, who has worked since he was 14 yrs old and has a very traditional view of his responsibilities to his family. He has sufferred from depression and anxiety attacks since his original diagnosis and experiences lethargy and fatigue on a regular basis. Through all this he continues to excercise as much as possible and to find ways to make money to help support his family. We are asking for help to obtain an adjustable stand to sit desk accessorized to meet his mobility needs. This desk will allow him to sit at the desk in his wheelchair and give him a chance to try to work via telecommuting. Before becoming ill Michael led a life of service and spent many many years in volunteer service to Boys Scouts and to our church auxiliaries. We ask that you help us help him get his life back via bis passion for helping others and helping support his family by working. For those of you who know Michael personally, you know he has always had a big heart and is a loyal friend. His family needs him and we humbly ask you to assist us with this request. Thank you in advance.
