Mobile Legal Aid Clinics Project

Arusha Women Legal Aid and Human Rights Organization (AWLAHURIO) is devoted to promoting access to justice, good governance by lobbying, and advocation for tailored policies aimed to improve the lives of women and children. The vision to create a just society that respects women and children’s rights is brought about through the provision of legal aid itself and by working to eliminate the education gap in different locales concerning human rights laws among vulnerable women and children.

AWLAHURIO's Mobile Aid Clinics Project will allow us to offer our services to those in remote areas who either cannot travel to our location, or are unaware that our services exist. Having already hosted several successful clinics and obtained permission to visit five new Wards, we are now seeking the funding to go even further! Each clinic consists of the distribution of information packets and the provision of private legal counsel. Additionally, AWLAHURIO will take on any cases when necessary. We intend to host one clinic a week for the next few months, each clinic costing only 223,000 TZS ($97 USD) to conduct!

We believe it is imperative that every person, regardless of their means, be educated on their rights as a human being. This project aims to leave people more informed about both what their rights are and what steps to take if they believe these rights are being violated.
