MJ’s Medical and Recovery Fund

Last July 11, exactly ten days before his birthday, our brother, MJ suffered from stroke at the young age of 25. As per MRI result, he had a cerebellar infarction/hemorrhage and obstructive hydrocephalus thus the need to undergo ventriculostomy. Without any hesitation, the family agrees to proceed with the brain surgery. MJ is the youngest amongst four siblings. When all of us, the three elder siblings got married and had a family of our own, he was left with our parents to take care of while chasing his dream career.

Our family is proud of his projects and accomplishments with his current company. We see how he always puts his best feet forward and it’s not a surprise that he’s successful in his projects. Being the perfectionist as he is, we know he wouldn’t let anything on his plate fail. We know how passionate he is with his work that sadly he forgets taking care of his health.

12 days in the ICU was not easy, physically and emotionally draining for the whole family but with his friends’ calls, messages and personal visits in the hospital prove that my brother has many concerned friends and it warms our hearts knowing he is loved. And by God’s healing power, our brother was able to survive. Yes MJ is a fighter!

Our family wants to express our deepest gratitude for all the support you have given to MJ since he was hospitalized. He is getting better day by day. We know it wouldn’t be long until he’s up and ready to smile and share his amazing personality once again. But before that, we need to make sure he gets the right medication and treatment he needs. He’s out of the ICU now, which we thank God for. His doctor advised that in the next few months, he needs to undergo therapy and continue medications.

As of today, our hospital bill is at Php934k+++, unfortunately this does not include the doctors’ professional fees and the healthcard will cover less than half of that. The expenses are overwhelming, and will continue to mount. Any support you are able to provide will help give MJ the best shot at recovery. He is in dire need of assistance to get him through this tough time.
