MIZZOU BLSA MOCK TRIAL

Dear Recipient,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Black Law Students Association Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team at the University of Missouri School of Law.  The Black Law Students Association here at the University of Missouri School of Law  (MU BLSA) is committed to acquainting students with the professional opportunities, problems and responsibilities its members will have as practicing members of the Bar. One way MU BLSA achieves its purpose is by encouraging participation in advocacy competitions both sponsored and unsponsored by the University of Missouri School of Law.

Last year, in an effort to truly promote our commitment to training our members in the art of advocacy, MU BLSA assembled the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team to compete in the Midwest BLSA Regional Mock Trial Competition, where our team went on to receive an award for “best brief” – in our very first year of mock trial competition.

This year, the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team again competed in the Reginal BLSA Mock Trial Competition, where both teams of four qualified for nationals!  MU BLSA is dedicated to the process of sending our best advocates to compete in external competitions, but we need your help.

Unfortunately, we have not yet raised enough funds to fully sponsor our trip to nationals which is in Atlanta, Georgia this year. As it stands, we need an extra $5,000.00 in order to fund the trip. Your donation* would assist tremendously with our effort. With your support, the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team will be much closer to yet another successful year.
