Mission Trips

Family and Friends,

I’m attempting major ministry this upcoming year. I think it’s safe to say at this point, I’ve become a mission trip junkie. I surrender completely to this role with massive amounts of joy. As hard as it is to leave your home to visit a desolate place, it’s still completely outweighed by the fulfillment that comes from healing brokenness, mending hurts, feeding hungry bellies, and leading people to the true savior, the Father of all comfort,  Jesus Christ.

This past fall I opened my calendar and realized I had 3 trips I desperately wanted to be a part of. One in early January to Northern Africa, one in spring to Mexico, and one in the summer back to D.C. I thought about this and wondered which ones I would be capable to work on…..but to be honest I didn’t want to give up on any of them. In Mexico I would be visiting the trash heaps in San Luis, hugging on babies and serving orphans rice and beans as well as the surrounding villages that are in need. In D.C. I would again be with my youth preparing their big hearts and tiny hands for serving those who are right in our backyard, just as much in need of hope and help as those in other countries. Gosh, even as I write I’m so excited. I just can’t wait to be looking into all the eyes of those who the Lord wants me to see and meet! So as you can see I just couldn’t decide. I lifted all this up to the Lord and told Him that I will go wherever he needs me, but that He would have to make that choice.

Well, that being said, my trip is already done in Africa. Hurray! God is so good, loved one. I’m growing, getting stronger each day. The Lord reminds me often that my life will not be one of normalcy. And when I feel heartbreak over that, as I see dear friends and loved ones settle down, get married, and have children, He tells me that if I’m willing He has amazing things in store that may not be what I thought I’d have, but that will still be an adventure.

Whether through financial help or through prayer, I invite you.  If there is something you need prayer for this year, tell me! If something wonderful is happening in your life, write me! If you have questions, ask them! I know life gets so busy but I would love to be a part of YOUR support team, too! Also, if you are interested in hearing how any of these trips go, please let me know! I would love to inform you, only wishing that I could be sitting across from you with coffee as I speak of these ministries.
