Mission Trip to Tobolsk, Russia!

In May of 2014, I and nine other team members will be heading on a short-term mission trip to Tobolsk, Russia. There we will be continuing work on a cement block building that will be used for a rehabilitation center, facilitating a marriage seminar, as well as doing other ministry projects throughout our time. As we prepare, we are looking for people to be partnering with us in prayer, but also to be supporting us financially. As we are getting ready, we are needing to have our tickets purchased so our funding needs to be raised by the 18th of February (2/18/14).

I want to let you know about an exciting opportunity that God has brought into my life. This coming May 15-27, I and ten other team members from Smokey Point Community Church will take off for Moscow, Russia, on a short-term mission trip. From Moscow we will take an in-country flight and wind up in the city of Tobolsk, in Siberia.

Our mission trip will be a combination of a work project, as we finish a cement block building that will be used as a community center to reach out to Muslims. Also, we will be sharing personally our stories of how Christ has changed our lives. There will be several outreach opportunities to both men and women, and also this team will host a 2-day marriage seminar.

I am very excited about this opportunity! I would like to ask that you pray for us in some specific ways; that the travel plans would fall into place, that our team would prepare well both physically and spiritually, and that we would form into a well unified team. Please pray that we will be effective in ministry, and that we would experience God’s hand of protection. For myself personally, I would like to ask for prayer over my heart, as this will be my first mission trip and I know that I will be greatly challenged in my faith with the work we will be doing and being away from my family and Grayson. Our desire is that God’s love be poured out through the work of our hands, the expressions on our faces, and through the words we speak through translators.

We are each raising our own support for this trip. The individual cost per team member is $2,800. My primary need is for your prayers. If God leads you to help with the financial support for the trip, you may use the enclosed envelope and response card. Please make your check payable to the “SPCC-STM Fund”. Please do not include my name on the check donation. If for some unforeseen reason I am unable to go on the trip, your contribution would be used to help the rest of the team.
