Although HIV/AIDS has reached almost every part of the world, no other region has been harder hit than sub-Saharan Africa, home to nearly three quarters of the world’s people living with HIV/AIDS. By the end of 2002, over 29 million people in sub-Saharan Africa were living with HIV/AIDS. Of those, 10 million were young people (aged 15-24) and almost 3 million were children under 15. There are over 34 million orphans in the region today. These children rely on outside help as the country is already devastated and they do not have the capacity to help all the children affected by this epidemic.
We are raising 32,000 USD to bring supplies to these children and their caregivers. Our main concentration will be on food, material for clothing, and school supplies. Some funds will also be dedicated to seeds, farming supplies and education on sustainable farming practices. As well, we will be bringing building materials for new structures and repair of the current structures. All supplies and material will be purchased in bulk quantity from suppliers who will offer discounts, to maximize funds and receive the most benefit for the dollar.
Please donate today to help improve the quality of life for children with little hope for a great future. Together we can give them one!
Volunteer opportunities also available. Must provide your own travel expenses. Reply here, with a letter explaining your experience, how you would like to help, and any other information you feel is important.
Our first trip will be to South Africa in Sept 2018.
