Mission Trip to Mexico

Hello friends and family, I have been blessed with the opportunity to join Ventura Missionary Church on a short-term mission trip to Door of Faith Orphanage located in La Mision, Baja California, Mexico. Door of Faith has become one of the largest orphanages in Baja caring for well over 100 children of all ages. The main priorities of Door of Faith are;

1. Family: To provide family atmosphere for the children to experience stability, love, and guidance. 
2. Education: To prepare the children for life after Door of Faith to be healthy and productive members of society.
3. Community Service: To live Christ’s example of a life of service. To give back to the local community through service, outreach and compassion. To love our neighbor as ourselves. 

During our stay we will be interacting with the children by coordinating fun games and activities at the orphanage, take part in morning and evening family worship and devotion time, participate in general building and maintenance needs of the orphanage, and go out into the local village with the children and distribute bags of basic home and food supplies for families in need. 

The money fundraised will be used to purchase basic ongoing needs at the orphanage such as;

• canned goods
• brooms, mops, buckets
• diapers, baby wipes
• shampoo and conditioner
• toilet paper
• household cleaning supplies
• children’s medicine 

and also to purchase items to distribute to the families in the local village such as;

• beans
• rice
• sugar
• maseca
• fruit
• canned fruit, can openers
• toothbrushes, toothpaste
• pasta for soups
• cooking oil

I am extremely excited and very much looking forward to this trip especially because Kenny knew I was doing this and he knew this was something I enjoyed doing.
