What I am doing

100 children die of rabies A DAY in India alone. This charity, Mission Rabies, is doing something about it

I shall be travelling out to Goa in August and get collected by the organisers and  be put to work as a non-vet volunteer (dogsbody). I will be cleaning carrying catching (if i have the puff) and helping out in the capture assessment vaccinating neutering and re-introduction of stray dogs in some of the poorest parts of rural India

When I am doing it

I'm being picked up on August 16 in Goa. How I get there is up to me. I will be working for two weeks in high summer in 90 degree heat but this is no beach holiday!

Why I am doing it

Because I can. Because I want to get my hands dirty, have an adventure and challenge myself. But most of all to make a personal difference, however small.

How you can help

Help me fund my trip

A donation via paypal or a secure credit card payment through this site. (they take 4%-less than a second class stamp on a £10 donation)

Alternatively on the 1st of July in conjunction with The Boileroom, UkeJam and the opening of The Guildford Fringe Festival there will be a fundraising  event.

There you can ask me personally about the project and put a few coppers in the bucket

I will also be selling printed photographs in a stop me and take one style on the night for a £10 suggested donation

Or book a photoshoot with me and haggle. All monies get channeled into this

What happens to the money?

It goes on the cost of the trip. These, roughly, break down as:

Flights- somewhere in the region of £700

Indian Visa £125 ( through a visa service)

Rabies shots x3 at £48 each so £144

Food and acommodation £350

Malaria meds £30 ish

Kit ( Boots, insect repellent, sunscreen, hat, shorts and anything else i need and dont yet have) £100

Travel Insurance £150 incuding insuring the camera

Thanks...

...for reading to the bottom. I hope this is something you feel you can support me in. It  means a lot, and will really make a difference. I promise.

Phil
