Mission Motorsports Fundraiser

My name is Ben Ford and I'm a train driver for First Capital Connect at Cambridge. I run a karting championship which is open to work colleagues from across the company, from Brighton through London, up to Bedford and Kings Lynn.The competition was set up as a memorial trophy race in memory of two drivers who died tragically and left two very young families, the inaugural race last year was very successful.This year we are having three races at various circuits, Milton Keynes, Rye House and Tower Bridge.Over the course of the year we will also be raising money for Mission Motorsport, who are linked in to Help For Heroes and give support to military personnel who have been wounded physically and mentally in armed conflict, by allowing them to compete in motorsports at home and abroad, giving the soldiers a opportunity to work together as a team to achieve a goal, building their confidence in the process. They also work with the Recovery Careers Service who arrange vocational work opportunities to wounded servicemen and women, to help them rebuild their lives.
