During my first trip to Honduras I was on a rebuilding mission to help villages after the Hurricane Mitch disaster. This trip was nearly 17 years ago. I became involved with the people of Honduras and currently still have a deep passion in helping, particulary the children in schools that are in remote villages. Most of these schools do not have materials to learn, desks, proper bathrooms suitable for teachers and students, or a building that is safe for these students and teachers to be learning in. Not only are the buildings not suitable for the school community but these children do not have the nutrition needed to sustain the ability to learn. With your donations a simple everyday snack could be provided to help these children in need. Most of the families do not have enough money to buy the required uniforms or to send their child to school with a snack, lunch, or even clean water to drink. Please find it in your heart to help these children gain an education so that they may give back to their country by helping others.
Other ways that you can help is also by signing up to volunteer in Honduras. Mission In Action Honduras helps groups to travel to Honduras on mission trips to serve in villages on various projects.
