Did you know for as little as $9, a child in the Philippines can have a backpack full of school supplies? That's two coffees, one croissant or an hour parking in the CBD.
But there’s a problem
According to figures from the Philippine Statistics Authority, 1 out of 10 Filipino kids is out of school.
With many Filipinos living below the poverty line, a percentage of these students fall behind in school due to a lack of basic stationery and school supplies.
Here’s what we’re doing about it
We are gathering spare changes and turn them into backpacks full of school supplies!
With your extra coins and the help of my family in the Philippines, we are targeting to distribute backpacks to 100 students. We will start with one barangay (council) in Manila, and hopefully, help more kids in the future.
You can join us
If you have coins lying around under your sofas, in your bags, on your car and/or jiggling in your pockets, please send them our way and help reach our target of $900 ($9 x 100 students = $900).
100% of the donated funds will be used to fill 100 backpacks with notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, rulers, crayons and plastic envelopes that they can use for a whole year of learning.
And here are some amazing perks for supporting this cause
Our cute beneficiaries have also been busy drawing thank you cards! For those who donated, keep your eyes peeled for a masterpiece to come through to your mailbox.
