Miss Global 2014

Hey there! Thank you for your time to take a look at my project! I am Kerra, active duty military in the Army. A few months ago I came back from Afghanistan and decided I wanted to challenge myself. I saw too many young women who's stories saddened me. Young women who felt powerless, unworthy, different. I decided I wanted to do something with myself to set an example of what it means to postively be different, beautiful and strong no matter your situation! I found this opportunity to apply for the Miss Global 2014 pageant. This pageant is unlike the traditional beauty pageants. Miss Global scouts out women of all different cultures, types, looks, and stories. I loved that this pageant was open to women who were divorced and single mothers where as a traditional "Miss" pageant would not allow women to compete otherwise. To me, that alone spoke volumes. I believed that even though I have tattoos, in the army, and have been divorced that I represented what a resilient American woman stood for; Someone who has flaws, has made mistakes, has seen the ugly, has seen the beautiful and still pushes forward with grace. I will be representing USA in this years Miss Global 2014 in December! Being that I am only an enlisted soldier, this pageant will get pricey, which is why I am asking for your help!
