Thank you for taking time to read our campaign for our dear Kaleb and Kaden.
All of us go through good and bad times. For us, it was indeed good news when we learned we’re having twins. Our hearts leaped with joy when the OB Gyne saw two tiny babies inside my tummy!
May 30, 2018 was supposed to be just another usual day for us but it wasn’t. The world appeared surreal when I heard the doctor said, “I can’t let you go home. Your cervix is already 5cm dilated.” They gave me steroid shots and other meds to stop my labor from progressing. But, our babies couldn’t wait anymore. Our sweet boys were born at 28 weeks via emergency c-section that day. My husband and I didn’t get to carry them in our arms when they came out since they were immediately brought to the special care unit. Both had difficulty breathing as their lungs weren’t fully developed yet. They were in critical condition.
Little Kaleb weighed only 1, 276 grams. He was so tiny! The doctor initially suspected that he has Hirschsprung Diease – a serious congenital disease involving excretion problems. If medical tests confirmed this, he needs to undergo an operation. Thankfully, our little boy finally excreted on his 6th day at the SCU! We were relieved to finally hear from the pediatric surgeon that his probability of having Hirschprung Disease is low.
Kaden weighed 1,389 grams. He had worse breathing problems. He had pneumonia and several episodes of apnea and bradycardia. He had to be hooked up in a vent to help him breathe. Additionally, the doctor suspects that he might have brain infection, which could lead to possible neurological deficits. Tests have to be done to confirm it but the doctor said the procedure is risky to be conducted at this point in time.
As of this writing, our hospital bills have reached almost a million pesos already. The credit and collection department told us to prepare around two to three million pesos should the twins stay more than a month in the hospital. All our savings have been exhausted and we have already sought help from relatives and friends. Presently, we are working on the requirements for government assistance.
Despite these ongoing trials, we continue to put our trust in the Lord. We know we’ll get through this. As stated in Isaiah 43:2 says, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” This helps my husband and I remain strong and positive in spite of our situation. While knowing the fact that premies have increased risk for adverse health complications, we continue to pray to God that our twins will receive miraculous healing and that they will be free from any medical problems. We cling unto the truth that nothing is impossible with our loving Father. As stated in Matthew 19:26, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Help us storm the heavens with prayer for Kaleb and Kaden’s fast recovery. If you would like to provide financial assistance, we would be extremely grateful to whatever amount you can extend for our sweet babies. We would also appreciate to hear any loving words of encouragement that you can give to our twins which you can leave under the comment tab section.
God uses people like you to do his extraordinary work and channel his blessings. We pray that your intention to help Kaleb and Kaden will return to you a hundred fold!
