I gave birth to both my children prematurely. First baby was born at 26 weeks and unfortunately he wasn't able to make it. He died due to fetal destress. The a year later I got pregnant with another baby and was 27 weeks premature. It was the same story all over again and I was so scared. I felt like I'm going to lose another baby. Countless sleepless nights after I gave birth as we await for the update of my Baby. I couldn't see him (Yes he is a boy) because I gave birth through C-Section and could not walk right up. I didn't hear my baby cry, so I'm like, I have to accept the fact that sooner or later my baby might end up dying just like our first baby. But when the Doctors told me that he's inside the incubator and is somehow doing well, I couldn't be happier.

Long story short, the big day has finally come!! He's not discharged from the NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT! I was so happy!!! But then here comes the final bill I could not believe that despite our efforts and my open stitches from walking back and forth, visiting Government Offices to give us financial aide, our bill was still 1.9 Million pesos. That's right! 1.9 Million pesos!! Oh boy, we might have to sell our soul to come up with that amount. Long story short we ended up selling every possible thing that we could sell. Pawn the car and the house. Then we got him out.

I joined Premature Parents Support group. That's when I figured out that we have growing numbers of babies in the Philippines that are born prematurely. And the sad thing is, some of them are even contained or is being held by the hospitals due to non-payment. And that's why I decided to start up this foundation. not specifically to be able to pay off everything they own, but somehow give those parents in need a little bit of some thing.

Having a premature baby is already as stressful as it is and the hospital bill could cause more stress.
