Everytime someone comes to me and ask why my baby is so yellow, it feels like being stabbed in the heart but I know it’s a story I need to share. Mamaik and I always pray for our family to be a living testimony of God’s faithfulness and in order to do so, I need to be bold and courageous to share.
When I became a mommy, I gained a better glimpse of our Heavenly Father’s love. As a mommy, I can confidently say that I will do anything and everything for my child. But nothing compares to the love God has for us (John 3:16) As a parent, I am limited compared to a LIMITLESS GOD. I know HE loves Elle more than I could ever love her. Therefore there is every reason to hope for a MiracELLE. I continue to pray for Miracles, I pray with faithful expectation. I take heart because I know the stories of how Jesus heals gazillion years ago is true and they are just as true for us today because the great HEALER is the same yesterday and today and forever! (Hebrews 13:8)
I praise the Lord for His grace is always sufficient. It’s sufficient for each day
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
so we take one day at a time, careful not to exhaust the grace God gives for tomorrow 🙂
Elle was 7 to 8 weeks old when her Pediatrician noticed that she was very yellow (jaundiced), the whites of her eyes looked yellow, her urine was dark and she had pale, almost white colored stool. Elle’s Pediatrician immediately endorsed us to a Gastroenterologist and recommended an urgent liver biopsy. UST Doctors have done a liver biopsy, ultrasound and tons of blood work. It was very painful for us to see our little girl being struck with a needle every week. She was already 4 months old when she was diagnosed with biliary atresia. Since then, Elle has gone through numerous doctor visits, laboratory tests and blood transfusion.
Biliary atresia is a rare disease that affects 1 out of 10,000 infants. It is a life-threatening disease in which the bile ducts are blocked, resulting in a buildup of bile in the liver causing biliary cirrhosis – a liver condition caused by scarred tissues and damaged cells. This condition makes it difficult for the liver to remove toxins from the blood so toxins build up in the blood which over time leads to liver failure and the infant needs a liver transplant to stay alive.
After doing careful research, we have decided to have her liver transplant at Apollo Hospital India. They are known to be experts in pediatric liver transplants and have given us an assured package of 33,000USD. Our goal amount to raise is 2M PHP to also cover expensive medications post transplant. We are praying that we can fly to India before June.
Our hearts were broken at the thought of our beautiful baby having to go through all these but we are at peace knowing the One who holds her future will never leave her nor forsake her. God has blessed us with a happy and easy baby despite of what she’s going through. She is truly a fighter, our MiracELLE.
We are asking for financial help because we are a single income family. My husband is the only one working because I have opted to stay at home and give the best care for our daughter because of her health condition.
Please help us save baby Elle’s life. Please share her story and donate if you are able to. Every donation counts and will make a difference. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for taking the time to read and for your generous donation.
