Minnie’s birthday ball

My name is Ami Duggleby my friend Kate Rodgers and I are organising a charity ball in memory of my little girl who died in January last year at 23days old. Myself, my husband Liam and our 3 year old daughter Lilly live in Driffield and Minnie was born in Scarborough but due to the seriousness of her health problems she was transferred to Leeds General Infirmary hours after birth.

Minnie was born with hypoplastic left Heart syndrome and cortaction of the aorta she was also found to have a small section of muscles missing from her trachea, these are both serious congenital birth issues that were not discovered until after birth and after a extremely difficult 3 weeks Minnie's condition was too much for her little body to cope with and she passed away peacefully.
After her death Minnie donated both her kidneys to a young adult who is recovering well, in doing so she became one of only 5 babies in the country and the first neonatal organ donor in Yorkshire.
The ball has been booked for the 6th of February 2016 at the KC Stadium and we are hoping to sell over 200 tickets and raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and raise much needed funds for the neonatal ICU in Leeds General Infirmary where Minnie received her treatment before she passed away.

Without the unit and the amazing doctors in Leeds I don't think we would have even had 23 days with Minnie and we have taken great comfort from trying to raise funds in her memory to support the work they do there.
