Minnesota Security License

Who?

I am a disabled veteran looking to benefit those around me by using talents learned while in the military. I have been on the patrol and supervisor end of many security companys and have always found them lacking in many ways. I want to change that, I want to give people peace of mind with quality employees.

What?

I am looking to begin the process of starting a Security/Asset Protection company in the state of Minnesota. I am looking to promote the hiring of veterans specifically trained in this field to ensure a quality service. To do this I must first obtain a Minnesota Security License. This fundraiser is specifically to pay for the classroom time and the money needed to file the appropriate paperwork once completed.

Giant companies hire anyone and everyone just to fill a position with very little regard to the fact that they cant even do the job. Most of them cant even walk up a flight of stairs, or talk on their cell phones all day while they are supposed to be the eyes and body protecting peoples assets. Private Security is NOT a desk job.

Help us pave our own way, while we work to put something together that will force everyone to raise the quality of personal protection and ensure that we can make a company that WILL cater to veterans and not 'college degrees' especially when they dont fit the field.

Why?

I have been denied employment on the sole basis that I was a veteran. This is not a good thing in our country. My skills are valuable, as are many others. I intend to use this small business to employ veterans that are otherwise left in the cold in a field many are remarkably suited in, but over looked. 

Veterans get a hard run, we are constantly denied benefits that will help us live like normal people, welfare pays more but if we get ANYTHING from the VA, many of us are denied coverage and help by the state. 

The veterans preference line we get told is a joke, so competing in the job market isn't as easy as people often report. Many times we are denied (stating we dont have the experience, college, or whatever lame reason they want to give) because we put down we belonged to a branch of the military.

A few friends and I are getting annoyed by the lack of professionalism in the job market and quality of private security available in the Metro area here in MN and how we are treated as veterans.

The funding goes towards getting the certificate we require to compete with the big companies.

Everything above and beyong our goal will be deposited into a savings account to be used in start up costs further down this long road.
