Mini Horse Helping the Broken Hearted

I have a miniature horse that I have been taking to Nursing Homes, Rehab Centers, and Special Needs functions for over 3 years. In that time I have seen some amazing results. At one Nursing Home the director was accompanying me as we visited residents in their rooms. In the hallway there was a women in a wheelchair, I asked the director if I could bring Star (my mini horse) over to her. He said "dont bother, she doesnt react to anything", I asked if I could try anyway, and he said "go Ahead" I walked Star over and asked her if she liked horses- there was no reaction- she didnt blink or move- I said" there is a little horse right next to you, would you like to pet her"- again No reaction. I said ok, well the little horse is going to leave now" and slowly started to walk Star away...all of a sudden her arm moved and she started to pet Star ! I backed Star to be right next to her, her other arm came over as she started to hug Star! The director and staff could not believe what they were witnessing... Very recently I was at a facility, prior to tapping on the door of one bedroom the director said this women is very depressed, she never gets out of bed, she said she hadnt even seen the one side of her face because it is always on the pillow. We entered the room and it was just as the director had described, a women in bed with her head on the pillow, Until Star came into her sight.. she immediately sat straight up and started hugging Star like she never wanted to let go. It was beautiful! I visit  facilities many times a week, oh she rides in the van with me, she likes her car rides, and we make people smile on the way to a facility. At a stop light one man put his window down as he was laughing he said "you needed that one more horse power, didnt you". I dont make much doing this some facilities do not even pay me anything, some give me a small donation. But taking Star on these visits has truly touched my heart, and I never want to stop.   I am trying to raise some money for repairs on my van. It is a 1997 with some big mechanical issues. It would be horrible to be stuck on the side of the road with a horse in the van, I cant just call a taxi (Star wouldnt fit:).  I am asking for your help to continue these beautiful visits that mean so much to those who have so little.
