Hi! Our names are Will and Lisa Miner. Before Will, I was content with being a single mother of three wonderful kids who were 13, 9 and 2 when he and I met. I had even undergone a tubaligation in 2002 to prevent future pregnancies. We began dating September of 2005 and he came into the relationship with no biological children. After we married in January of 2010 the conversation began about maybe doing IVF to have a child together. Unfortunately that was very costly and we applied for financing but were turned down. In the summer of 2011 we did research for alternatives to IVF and found Lakeshore Surgical Center. LSC performed tubaligation reversals for couples and the price tag was $6900. We were able to save the funding and have the procedure October 21st, 2011 in Gainesville GA. The surgery was successful in reconnecting my fallopian tubes and we began trying to conceive shortly after the procedure. Month after month we came up not pregnant which was a difficult pill to swallow. Seeing Will interact with my three children and him being an excellent father made it more difficult on myself when we were not conceiving. Then came the positive test! We were able to conceive in 2013 and were overjoyed at the thought that we had finally been successful, sadly that ended in a miscarriage on Valentine’s Day. By the end of 2013 I had taken a job which had insurance to cover basic fertility testing. One of tests showed I had a uterus full of polyps which were removed via DNC. The test also showed some male fertility problems which we were had been unaware of until that point. Another issue was the insurance. They were dragging their feet about whether or not they would cover the IVF due to the fact that I had previously been sterilized and then repaired. The doctors assured us somehow they would get information in the insurance peoples hands to warrant good reason for coverage. Just as we were about it sit down and map out our IVF plan I lost the job which also meant I lost the insurance. This was a devastating blow as we had been making all of the plans for OUR BABY. The hopes of 10 little fingers and 10 little toes had been dashed in a split second. We did inquire about what the cost out of pocket would be and they gave us a quote of $15,000 upfront to even begin the process. We didn’t have that much laying around and so we walked away with a sense of hopelessness.

It has been two years since we were told that IVF would be our only option. The doctors said there was only 1% chance of natural conceptions which left me scouring the internet for treatments to up the percentage possibly. I am now 37, soon to be 38 and the biological clock is ticking. We are doing this fundraiser in our quest to raise the funding to start our IVF process. It would be truly a blessing to hear the doctor say “You are pregnant!!”IVF is our last hope in completing our family with a child that is some me and some him.

$15,000 is a hefty price but it would be well worth it to be able to have a child together. We are asking for help now. Every little bit would help. Prayers are welcomed as well.

We will blog to follow our journey at : https://iloatheinfertility.wordpress.com/

Thank you so much in advance!

Today, upon suggestion from a friend, the link to this page was posted to Twitter. We have been discussing about the funding raised and the what if a miracle happened we conceived naturally. If conception somehow happened naturally the funds raised would then go to help another couple(s) to achieve. . . . .
