I am wanting to attend a midwifery training program located in Asheville, NC but currently, with the way the economy is, do not have the funding to move and attend. The school does not qualify for federal pell grants so my only option would be a student loan. Tuition is $4,200. The program is through The Matrona and is 5 months long running either from February-June or September to February each year. My goal is to attend the Feb. 2013 program. Once the program is finished I would then begin my apprenticeship followed by taking the exam to get my Certified Practical Midwife license. Birth is my passion and I want to help bring homebirth and the way we were meant to give birth naturally back into our society, culture, and the world. Birth belongs to the family, the mother. I would like to do part of my apprenticeship at a Haitian or Balinese midwifery clinic and/or volunteer there as well as in Africa and some other countries once I become a CPM. I would also like to open my own birth center besides doing homebirths.

I have until January 2013 to raise as much of the $4,200 as possible.
