Hello there – My name is Faye Rumley; I am 31 single mother to an almost 3-year-old. Our lives were turned upside down last year. This has been exceedingly difficult for me to write but I want to be vulnerable in sharing this and hopes that my story will help someone else experiencing a similar situation. This is a story about microbial growth, genetics, and one determined momma. (Enjoy)

So picture this: Upon moving into a small house in January 2020, my daughter and I started experiencing a slue of health issues – for myself chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and incredible brain fog were first and constant. My daughter had repeated ear infections, crud in her lungs that would not clear. In May 2020 she experienced a febrile seizure after being home for a 2-week quarantine due to Covid…this sparked my investigation into “sick building syndrome”.

Months of research, professional mold testing, and doctor visits….I was informed that Kassie and myself had a genetic defect with our HLA-DR gene (information below). We moved into our second home in Sept 2020…unfortunately there was also copious amounts of mold in this home too, it was much more hidden (within the envelope of the house and in the HVAC…yikes right). The second move made me realize I was still naïve to the precautions needed before moving anywhere.

We moved out of the second home in Jan 2021. For 3 months we stayed at a friend’s home in their basement (super nice house) but being in the basement I realized there was a good amount of microbial growth there as well. We stayed sick and struggled each day with the biotoxin buildup.

Thanks to stimulus money I was able to save enough to get us into a new build apartment. Our 3rd move was April 1st 2021 (YASSS) and we are finally able to start healing and beyond enjoying a clean living environment.

All of this has drained me financially and emotionally. Luckily, I am one resilient woman and am so grateful for this experience because it entailed so much learning and personal growth.

Being able to breathe in your home is something most people (including myself) take for granted. Writing this is hard. There has been a lot of loss but also A LOT of gains – Knowing how genetics play such a huge part in one’s health has changed mine and Kassie’s life. (Those of you reading this – my mother was sick my entire childhood – there were years that she could barely get out of the bed – this was because traditional healthcare was treating her symptoms and not the root cause (mold, environmental toxins, genetics).

Before moving into a toxin-free apartment…..We had to throw out 70% of our belongings (mattresses, stuffed animals, couches, many clothes… any items with porous surface) Had to give away one my pups in the mist because I couldn’t find her temporary housing while we were staying at my friends'. (I still cry about that multiple times a week even though she did get a wonderful new family). I quit my job in Sept 2020 because of brain fog and chronic pain. Asking for help is weird for me, I had been fiercely independent since I was 19. Below is some information on biotoxin illness, HLA-DR gene defect, and things we need to get back on our feet.

HLA and biotoxin illness – The key players of this story!

The innate immune system is the body’s primary defense mechanism against invading antigens: the adaptive immune system is summonsed by the innate immune system as a second line of defense provided there are no HLA genetic defects in the individual (74% of the population).

26 % (1 in 4) of the population has an aberrant HLA system that leads to upregulation of the innate immune system with an inability to adequately notify and summons the adaptive immune system.

Biotoxins are extremely small, fat-soluble molecules capable of going from cell to cell through membranes without being carried directly in the bloodstream rendering them impossible to find in the bloodstream. Biotoxins can enter through inhalation, direct contact with contaminated water, ingestion, tick bites and spider bites. These biotoxins, in genetically susceptible people whose immune system (antibodies) do not recognize and tag them, lead to chronic inflammation and long-lasting chronic illness. Yikes, right!

Your donation will go toward:

Furniture Couch, small dining table, Twin mattress & cover, toddler desk, adult desk, Hypoallergenic Air machine, toddler toys

Living costs - Rent for May 2021, Car tag renewal (as it costs an arm, leg, and a kidney and let’s just say my tags expired 11/19)

Slightly scary growing debt (student loans deferment is over as of April 2021…yikes…medical bills from Kassie and I having so many health issues in 2020…another yikes lol)

Supplements - toxin removal (Will put links below) Vitamins (these has been a saving grace) which is roughly $100 per month.

If you, a loved one or someone you know suffers from – Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Depression, Allergy, Somatization, Irritable Bowel Syndrome to name a few!

Here are a few links to websites, specialized doctors and natural toxin removing supplements (TRS) that you can forward along. Hopefully this will help someone find relief as biotoxin illness is commonly mistreated/misdiagnosed.
