Michelle Mariposa’s Austria Summer Program Fund (AIMS 2018)

Hi all!

I am Michelle Mariposa, a student majoring in vocal performance at the College of Music. I graduated with a degree in Psychology last June 2016, and I am currently taking my second degree with the intent of pursuing a career in performance and in music therapy. My long-term goal is to be able to establish a music therapy program in the Philippines, and to promote professional singing and appreciation of art songs in the Philippine music scene.

Recently, I have been accepted to the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) Lieder Studio Program in Graz, Austria. It is a 6-week program of intensive training in the study and performance of German art songs, as well as art songs of different languages. The program includes masterclasses from different world-renowned singers and vocal pedagogues, daily German language classes, diction classes, as well as individual vocal coaching, and two culminating recitals. Indeed, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, that, I feel, would greatly benefit my growth and hopefully, career, as a musician and vocal performer.

The program, however, costs $ 6,695, or PhP 348,140, and being a working and self-supporting student, I am in need of additional sources of income in order to be able to partake of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I humbly ask for your generous financial support, which would greatly help me on this journey.
