Campaign Story
Michael is an injured dog that came into the Chipley, Fl shelter with pretty significant injuries that needed to be treated ASAP.
Info: Michael is 68 lbs and about 1-2 year old. He had a bone sticking out of his leg that was severely infected. It is an old injury. He got xrays that confirmed the fracture is trying to heal itself. The bone that was sticking out has been removed. Dr. Graham thinks if they can get the infection healed on his leg that they have a chance of saving his leg. It will probably not be normal but it will probably be functional. Worse case scenario, it can be amputated later. But, she thinks it is worth trying to save. He has been neutered, got shots, heartworm test, etc. Michael was boarded at the Vet's office for ten days so his leg could heal. We didn't want him going back to the shelter with a gaping hole in his leg.
Donations can also be called into Panhandle Veterinary Services at 850-638-4857. Please let them know to put your donation on Michael's account.
