Michael Greyling

My name is Michael and I am 14 years old and my passion in life is to achieve my dreams by being selected for the Olympic team in Swimming. I have had many challenges over the past 3 years starting with an accident I had causing internal injuries resulting in partial removal of my intestines. from that trauma my bone marrow was not developing and my bones were week. 9weeks post op I broke my ankle in 3places fortunately just before and after the growth Bone.

I am extremely dedicated to my accedemics and swimming so through all of this I was more determined than ever to achieve.

I am currently ranked 6th in my age group in SA and have qualified for EP SA Schools and interprovincial for 5 years despite my set backs and injuries .

I train every morning from 5am and every evening for 2hours and balance landtraining and academics.

I have qualified again for SA Juniors Nationals being held in March 2018 in Durban.

I am without a doubt going to swim at youth nationals in Avril which is held in Port Elizabeth.

With the past 3years medical costs and my father's medical costs from his heartattacj we are unable to ensure I can compete at these levels . The cost of training fees .school fees .costumes .Goggle's. Transport and accommodation .entry fees and fiid and supplements is R7000 a month and my mother is not able to do it all on her own.

My father was unemployed for a year after his heart attacks and my mother fell I'll from all the stress she was carrying . My parents have done everything they can to ensuring I have been able to get this far but are not in the financial position to do it much longer.

I am in desperate need of financial support to achieve my goals of climbing the SA rankings and ultimately a bursary to study further .
