Micah Rose’s Australia Journey

Dear Friend,

Since July 11, 2011, God has given me a whole new love for people.

My church, The Exchange Church, decided to have a missions trip to Romania. My parents were were willing to pay for the first mission trip, then I had to raise money to go on another second. I was passionate about experiencing all God had for me, and I raised the money. I had no idea what was in store for me.

I always grew up loving God, but I guess I never had "the best" relationship with God. I went to Romania thinking that I was going to help the needy, not realizing that the needy would end up helping me.

God spoke to me in a way that I have never experienced before. It was the craziest experience of my life. I was sitting by a stream and God told me these three words "listen, love, and be." I didn't really pay attention to them. I was just praying constantly that God would bless the kids that I was building relationships with and that God would do amazing things at this camp. God told me that just because I can't hear God speaking to me, it's not that He isn't talking, its because I'm not listening.

Then, He told me that I'm not loving my mom like I should be loving her. Everyone has that certain someone that they need to display love more than they are in the moment. Keep in my mind, my mom is incredible and always has been. For whatever reason, she was the person that I was giving the leftovers to. I decided in that moment to change that.

The last word He told me was I need to be who I am called to be. Growing up people always told me that I was going to be a pastor. To be honest, I never wanted to be a pastor... I always wanted to be an FBI agent or CIA agent. God told me that I was called to be a pastor. While in Romania, I sensed God telling me that when we came back to the US, that I would be speaking in my church that following Sunday. Now, if you are 15 years old and God told you that you were going to speak on a Sunday in front of people that were 20 times your age, you would probably be freaking out. I did. When I spoke to my dad, the pastor of the church, he did also, though he felt an unusual pull to let me do it.

We arrived back in the United States on Saturday night and the next day I was suppose to speak for the very first time. I was scared out of my mind; but in the end, God told me He was going to speak through me. He did. At that moment, I knew I couldn't run from God's calling. I know that God's calling is going to be far greater than my own dreams. You can listen to this message at

God has confirmed this calling multiple times and continued to grow me in leadership, communication, and my relationship with Him.

In the end, I want to honor God. I want to serve Him with all that I am and follow His leading. I have prayed non-stop on where to go, and I am confident that Hillsong International Leadership College will prepare for me for my destiny.
