2014 Ingrid & Steve Nelson moved to Bulgaria to renovate a house in a small rural village with their 13yr Boxer Hartman who sadly passed later that year.

On arriving in Bulgaria Ingrid & Steve were horrified by the plight of the dogs there ... some are chained 24 hrs a day, others are thrown out on the street and some have been born there & that is how they live, begging & scrounging any food they can.

Cruelty towards dogs is also a huge problem in Bulgaria, as well as neglect.

The street dogs are seen as vermin & many can be poisoned, shot or run over by cars & dead dogs are often seen.

Ingrid & Steve couldn't ignore the suffering of the street dogs & began to feed the strays in the village.

Ingrid & Steve found Mia living wild & so in need of help, so they took her in.

Later Mia came with a very big surprise...she was pregnant! She gave birth to 4 live healthy pups.

Sadly no one was interested in adopting any of the pups, so Ingrid & Steve had them vaccinated & neutered.

They had now gone from 1 dog to 5 with Vincent, Jodi, Esma & Honey.

Next came Vixey who was starving and frozen in the snow & then in April 2021 3 pups in appalling state were dumped outside Ingrid & Steve's gate. They required many expensive vet visits but once they were healthy they were vaccinated, neutered & passported for adoption.

Sadly only Koda was adopted in the UK.

Teddy & Diesel meant 6 dogs became 8.

All this has had a huge financial impact on Ingrid & Steve & they are struggling but know Mia plus 7 & the street dogs rely on them.

This is why I am asking for help on behalf of them.

If you can help in anyway financially, no matter how small or whether you can help with fundraising or you have contacts with any dog food companies who could help out or sponsor the dogs....any form of help would be appreciated.

Hi we are tryin to raise funds for rescued dogs and to feed the local street dogs.

This year I Ingrid am 60 on March 9th so I have decided to shave my head to try and raise funds for the dogs.

Any donations or sponsors would be great, and no matter how small would make a massive difference to these dogs, and I know the dogs would be eternally grateful and if they could, would thank you very much, so I am saying it on their behalf.
