Mexican artisan families in Oaxaca need your help

We're Katrin and Cesar, a Mexican German couple that lives in Oaxaca, Mexico. Together we are the founders of KWALIX, a travel and sourcing agency for beautiful Mexican handcrafts with heart!

Working with passionate artisans who make incredible textiles, alebrijes (woodcarvings), ceramics, and other beautiful crafts is such an honor. We're blessed to be part of Oaxaca's artisan community. We do our best to make Mexican crafts more popular across the globe to help the local families make a living of their stunning art and be able to preserve their traditions.

The artisans depend on tourism. Without tourists that are visiting them in their villages, the families are not able to sell anything. Because of global travel restrictions due to Covid-19, tourism is dead in Oaxaca since the end of March 2020. So it's been already more than two months without any income for most artisan families. And most likely, this won't get much better until the end of this year.

That's why we've started this fundraising campaign. The artisans need our help right now. Some families already depend on food donations.

Our goal is to raise 12,600 US-Dollars to provide seven artisan families we know in person and who need it the most with 300 US-Dollars per month for six months. 300 US-Dollar per month is enough money to feed a family of four.
