Hi, my name is Nick and I am raising funds to start a Free inorganic metal collection to help with reducing landfill build up that has a big impact to the environment and the ever increasing kerbside dumping of inorganic metal materials that are sometimes left for weeks on end (example = ovens , fridges ,microwaves ,washing machines and so on). One reason could be that people may not have the means to dispose of the items or could be invalid or elderly or just plain lazy which is then left to the local council to deal with in which case these items end up in the landfill until it is sorted.
I have Multiple Sclerosis which I found out about in 2010 resulting in loss of job lifestyle and confidence and as time went by, I learnt to deal with it but it came with a price. I was looking for work and attending job interviews, competing with other applicants and was unsuccessful every time due to my disability. I was told I could be a liability so I decided that if no one would like to employ me, I would employ myself.
I have a great passion for reducing waste in the consumer product section and for it to be disposed to the right industries to be properly processed and reused.
I am 47 years old and in good health yet I do not have many options left. Today I came across this website and read some of the amazing stories on here. If I am successful on this platform the funds would be used to buy office equipment, advertising, fuel, uniforms and an extra vehicle to collect items.
Once up and running I will be looking to employing staff that have difficulties in finding work due to disabilities or similar circumstances.
I thank you for taking the time in reading this post and considering helping me begin what will be an exciting new career and also helping clean up Auckland’s streets from dumped white goods.
