1.Purpose of the campaign: the funds raised in this campaign are used to carry out coats, staples and Christmas gifts for families from the most distant communities and extremely poor of our country. With your help, we can bring a lot of joy to the children this Christmas. Remember that "the smallest action is better than the broader intention"

2.-Who we are: Sonrisas Solidarias Cusco (Smiles solidariza con Cusco) https://www.facebook.com/pg/sonrisassolidariascusco/photos/?ref=page_internalis a non-profit social organization, formed by young volunteers, students of the career of dentistry in the city of Cusco. With them we are developing since 2016 oral health programs and healthy eating in the most remote Andean communities of our country, the communities that we go to once a week throughout the year, are generally above 4000 meters above sea level.

3.-Our history: My name is Jarin Ricalde, I study the professional career of dentistry in the city of Cusco in Peru, I am the president and founder of the social organization Sonrisas Solidarias Cusco, and volunteer of the UN in Peru. During the past year, we voluntarily decided to carry out oral health and healthy eating programs in the most remote and extremely poor communities of our country. Under the concept that our lives would not make much sense if we do not help with our knowledge to the people who need it most in our country, and that is why we decided to undertake this adventure and launch our initiatives, for this we selected four high Andean communities and far from our city. At the beginning we received a serious psychological blow, since the same rugged geography to reach the communities, the lack of medical supplies and the lack of economic resources for transportation, made some of the members of our group have to abandon the project. But since we knew that nothing in this life is easy, it was not in our mind to fail. And it was because of the destiny that in those months we met Dave Bergeron, a nurse by profession and of Canadian nationality, who in his visit to the city of Cusco, upon knowing our activities in the communities, was willing to support our initiative and Thanks to the donation of two campaign coolers and dental supplies and medicines, it was possible to improve our health campaigns at all times. Many of the communities we visit today still do not have drinking water or electricity. 90% of people speak in the native language of Kechua. 70% of children suffer from anemia and more than 40% suffer from chronic malnutrition. And in case of a medical emergency, they have to walk from 3 to 4 hours to go to a health center. Since we began oral health programs in these communities, we have been able to provide primary care to more than 1000 children from 3 to 12 years old. Many of these children spend Christmas, as if it were a normal day, helping their parents on the farm, where it rains very often during these months of the year. From the beginning, our commitment was to ensure that these families improve their quality of life and enjoy equal opportunities. We know that we still have a lot to do, and we need your support to achieve it. With your help we can continue to develop our programs and this Christmas helps us to bring you great joy full.
