Mercy Funds

Who am I: My name is Billy Plangji, age 25 from west africa a volunteer with Mercy ships.

What Mercy Ships does: Mercy ships is a christian hospital ship, that sails across Africa to the poorest African countries  to offer free medical aid and surgeries to the underprevilage people that are sick and cannot afford a treatment we are also involed in other community development programmes.

Why am soliciting for funds: My passion growing up is to help the poor and underrevilage around me, and growing up in a poor enviroment have motivated me to play my own part to make a diffrence in someones life no matter how little it is, and since joining Mercy ships in 2010 i feel i have found the perfect place to do what i love to do and that is helping the forgotten.My biggest challenge since joining the ship is raising my crew fees. Mercy ships volunteers are expected to pay for their accomodation and feeding while serving onboard the ship. I have really struggled to do that becuase i dont have financial supporters and becuase of that i left the ship on two occassion due to having insurficient funds, but i refused to let finance stand between me and my passion,and what i feel is Gods calling for me  thats why i ask for your support.I plan to rejoin the ship in Congo Brazaville if God wills.

Goals: I usually pay $250 a month for accomodation and feeding and i intend to serve for 2 years, which means i will need approximately $6000 to cover my fee. I believe this is a calling from God and i believe he will touch someone out there to step in and help me fullfil my goals.
