I am going to give my testimony on God's unconditional Love, His Amazing Grace and His Healing Power.
My trials and journey of faith started on November 27, 2011 when my husband was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia). This is the worst kind of leukemia. Normal white blood count of a healthy person is between 4,800 to 10,800. My husband's was 180,000! During a conference with the Moriles family held at the conference room of Makati Med, Dr Francis Lopez ( an excellent hematologist or doctor of the blood and oncologist) told us that after taking a look at my husband and at the result of his blood tests, he doubted if he could reach January because his acute leukemia was full-blown. And he could not undergo chemotherapy because of his age. He was 76 at that time. Dr Lopez said he couldn't survive even the 1st cycle. but January, February, March and April cam. His white blood count normalized. That April, I noticed a lot of bruises in my arms and legs. Sometimes the bruise would be as big as half of my leg. I ignored them because of my attention was focused on my husband 24/7. By the way, my face is like this because in 1998, I had a brain tumor. Surgeons opened me up. the benign tumor was on top of my auditory nerve and just below the facial nerve. Right side of my face is paralyzed making my face tabingi. And I am completely deaf in my right ear. so when you talk to me, please do so in my good ear-- the left one.
Back to my husband. On May, his white blood count started to climb up fast. and it could no longer be controlled. So on June 25, 2012, my husband went home to the Lord and he is now in His bosom.
The following month, I could no longer ignore my bruises. So on July 16th, I went to see Dr Lopez. I was submitted to a lot of tests, including one for lupus. All results were negative. On November 9th, I had a bone marrow biopsy. On the 13th, the result came out -- I was positive for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. And I must undergo chemotherapy immediately. Dr Lopez told me to prepare p800k and for a one-month hospital stay. I am not rich. I am not poor. Just comfortable. I did not know then where to raise that amount. But I know He provides. So on November 21, 2012, I was admitted with only p200k as deposit. Right after i was admitted, my chemo started 24/7 for five straight days. the rest of my stay I was in reverse antibodies to fight off infection. Visitors who might bring in bacterias were discouraged. It was a time of stressful waiting. Nurses were on alert for any sign of infection which would kill. A few days later, alone in my hospital room, I cried out to Him for help and for Him to make me understand what was happening to me and why. Then I felt an inner come to me and I felt His presence in my room telling me not to worry and just to trust Him. Then a series of miracles happened to me. Clients started texting me that my billboard contracts with them were renewed and that checks were ready.
On the 26th day of my confinement, Dr Lopez told that since I had a very uneventful chemo, I was ready to be discharged. You see, the nurses were surprised why I did not have any vomiting spells, there were no complications (although I became bald) and I did not weaken. But I knew why. God was with me in the room and He took care of me. I could feel Him enveloping me with His Love, His Protection and His Healing Touch.
Another miracle. When I was told that I was ready for discharge, I called Accounting but they told me that after paying a total of PHP900,000 plus, I still had a balance of PHP130,000 because Dr Lopez ordered additional tests. So, again, I turned to Him. Then my stepson Arnulfo Moriles stepped out of the blue texted me that he will try to help me without knowing the amount. He said he will try to raise any amount. Since checkout time had elapsed, i was charged one more day making my balance PHP133,000. He borrowed money and used his car for collateral. The next day, he gave me an envelope with a check inside for the proceed of his loan after paying advance interest and other charges. You know how much was the amount of the check? exactly PHP133,000. Isn't the Lord amazing?
What followed from Jan 2013 to the present are a series of medical needs-- surgery for a catheter implant, 2 more cycles of chemo, 6 biopsies, injections in the stomach to help boost my immune systems and a total of 15 platelet transfusions. platelet transfusion is much more expensive that red blood transfusion. to this very day my platelet continues to be very very low. Normal platelet count is between 150,000 to 450,000. As a result of the chemo, my platelet count was affected. Mine is now always between 20,000 or sometimes 50,000! Dr. Lopez prescribed a medicine to boost my platelet count. But it is PHP23,000 for every 14 days. Wow! I definitely cannot afford it. I just bought one box good for 14 days. That is all that I do. But I lifted up my life and my leukemia to my Father. God is in control
Dr. Lopez told me that I needed a bone marrow transplant. Again, I ran to Him for His guidance. It would cost me PHP2M ( which I do not have ) plus the problem of donors. Only my children or my siblings can donate. My two children are not compatible. So, I prayed. Then the Lord gave my His decision -- no transplant. Snow all I have to do is just TRUST AND OBEY. Lord, whatever thy plan is with my life, THY WILL BE DONE for thy was is perfect.
Dr. Lopez told me that on the 3rd year after my first chemo or Nov 21, 2015, I must have a final biopsy before he will give a medical clearance. And I had one-- last November 25th. The verdict came -- The doctors could not see any trace of leukemia. I AM FULLY HEALED. I have survived. I know that He favors me because my enemy, the leukemia, does not triumph over me.
After being on remission for almost seven years, I am once again diagnosed with a Recurrent AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) meaning that my cancer has come back, and they say when it comes back, it comes back with a vengeance. Doctors gave us 2 possible treatment options, certain procedures which requires a lot of money. Of course, ill need to go through a platelet transfusion because my platelet count is dropping very fast. Then I will be treated with Decitabine IV for 5 days + Lenalidomide tablets and if the response rate is low, I will need to go through chemotherapy (Doxorubicin and Cytarabine) which requires almost PHP1,000,000 (based on my experience of getting a chemotherapy four years ago). As such we have no other recourse yet again but to Trust the the Lord and Pray that the He continue to use his people as instruments through means of financial assistance or donations. .
We need to raise PHP500,000 or even more. The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress and my Deliverer; my God my Strength in whom I will trust; my Buckler and the Horn of my salvation and my High Tower.
Thank you and TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
