Mental health is just as important as physical health. Most people don't realize this until they get the symptoms themselves or worse, until it's too late to ask for help.
Hi, my name is Dinah, an expat living and working in Malaysia. I have a degree in BS Psychology and I am advocating for mental health and treatment support for a dear friend who's been struggling from traumas and severe mental illnesses. She’s currently going through a very difficult time, physically, emotionally, psychologically and financially.
Despite recent progress in bringing the need of mental health care to light, many people are still terrified of being judged, discriminated and stigmatized if they acknowledge they need assistance, hence, for my friend's privacy and anonymity, I could not disclose specific details about her on here.
However, let me tell you that she has so much potential in her. She’s still young, she's intelligent, talented, she could still make it big one day. But currently, she’s alone, has no support system and is earning very little that she is unable to provide for herself and get the required treatments and medications for her condition. Due to lack of proper food, fair employment opportunities, treatment and medications, her condition is getting worse by the day.
It breaks my heart every time to see her lose her energy from daily episodes, relapses, lose hope, slowly fade away and give up. Please join me in this cause to help get her back on her feet, regain everything she has lost and allow her to live her life to the fullest.
I kindly and humbly ask for your help. I hope that you’ll find it in your heart to trust and give a young soul hope that despite the toughest battles, life is still worth living. God bless your kind hearts and thank you in advance.
