Hello! Thank you for being here and helping to spread the word about what I do. My name is Dee Heinz. I am a Navy Wife and mother of three.
In 2010, I began making embroidered memorial photo quilts for military members, veterans, Gold Star families and various charities that support our wounded warriors and families of our fallen. I made three quilts that year. This year I have over 15 quilts to make and I’m certain many more projects will surface throughout the year. Each quilt costs between $150 and $200 to make.
Up to this point, my husband and I have funded these through our own personal finances because we refuse to accept any compensation from the quilt recipients. We believe they have paid a high enough price already. Until this year, these quilts have comfortably been within our budget. We have now; however, reached an impasse. We either must reduce the number of quilts that I make each year (which isn’t an option) or we ask for contributions from outside sources to make this possible.
If you’re a Patriot and you believe in the importance of honoring and remembering the sacrifices that are made by so many on the front lines for us, then please consider helping with a donation of any amount. 100% of your donations will go toward these projects. I am not currently a 501c3, nor do I know yet if that is in my future. I’m just one grateful American who is trying to say “thank you” and make a difference in the lives of these families one quilt at a time. Freedom isn’t free. Thank you for helping me make this possible and for giving what you are able.
God bless! ~Dee
