Memories

Memories is a project developed by two people Paul and John. Both had extensive experience in the music industry as well as many years experience working with the older person and those with dementia or challenging behaviours.

The project is a group of shows that Paul and John have compiled between them. The shows are written and performed on a shoestring budget and have only been performed in south yorkshire due to lack of finances. We would dearly love to take this so far very successful show nationwide so others can enjoy the fun.

The content of the show varies on the request of the booker but it usually takes this following rough format.

Introduction

Song and comedy routine

Six to eight songs from 40s 50s and 60s including firing water pistols at Paul whilst singing walking in the rain.

John then gives a george formby rendition of popular songs from the 40s

A comical interlude commences usually consisting of two delivery guys and a cardboard box with a cute present inside. Alternatively we have sketches that include decorators or a man and his wife plus others that are seasonal.

The final part is a good old knees up akin to those cockney pub piano sing a longs with music from the music hall to the war.

All clothes are second hand from charity shops presents and percussion instruments were bought from car boot sale.The Pa is a very old one bought from cash convertors.

The people we perform to get a fantastic show but its a shame they dont see us in clothes to match or music played through a better system.

We are looking for funding to buy us a decent pa a portable changing room and better percussion instruments. We need money for marketing the show and funding for a better vehicle our current one is a 15 year old rover with head gasket problems.
